On September 28, 2025, the 9th Sino-UK Innovation & Development Forum opened in Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou, as a key event of the Hangzhou International Talent Exchange & Project Cooperation Conference. OxValue.AI proudly co-organized the forum, which brought together nearly 600 participants—the largest in its history—including more than a dozen top scholars and industry leaders from China and the UK.

The forum focused on three key themes: Innovation Ecosystems, Youth Innovation, and Future Industries, with an emphasis on fostering international collaboration to advance technological innovation and industrial transformation. Through in-depth dialogue, participants shared global expertise, explored the role of artificial intelligence in driving economic growth, enhancing industry efficiency, and reshaping global value chains, and discussed strategies to strengthen regional innovation capabilities and support high-quality development. Matt Murney, Consul-General of the United Kingdom in Shanghai, sent his congratulations via video message, highlighting the forum’s significance for UK-China collaboration.

At the closing of the forum, Professor Xiaolan Fu, Founder of OxValue.AI, Fellow of the British Academy, and Founding Director of the Oxford Technology & Management Centre for Development, emphasized the importance of UK-China cooperation in innovation. She stated that innovation is the primary driver of development and an essential bridge between the two countries. While both nations have contributed uniquely to human progress, their cultural differences offer broad opportunities for collaboration. Looking ahead, she highlighted the potential for deeper strategic alignment in innovation and strengthened cooperation in science, technology, and industry.
