The IEEE Awards Committee recently announced the list of recipients for the 2025 IEEE Technical Field Awards, granting awards to 31 individuals. Among them, Professor Yaochu Jin, a distinguished advisor on the OxValue.AI Advisory Board from April 2023, received the 2025 IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Award. Named after Frank Rosenblatt, the pioneer of the early neural network model “Perceptron,” the award has recognized 26 recipients since 2006.

About Professor Yaochu Jin

Professor Yaochu Jin is currently the Chair Professor for Artificial Intelligence and Head of the Trustworthy and General Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Westlake University in Hangzhou, China. Previously, he held prestigious positions such as Alexander von Humboldt Professor for Artificial Intelligence at Bielefeld University in Germany and Distinguished Chair Professor in Computational Intelligence at the University of Surrey in the UK. He has received numerous accolades, including the “Finland Distinguished Professor” by the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation and the “Changjiang Distinguished Visiting Professor” by the Ministry of Education of China. Professor Jin has published over 500 papers, with more than 150 in IEEE Transactions, accumulating over 47,000 citations and an h-index of 105. His research focuses on data-driven evolutionary optimization, evolutionary learning, trustworthy machine learning, and morphogenetic self-organizing systems.
